Brave Like A Lion

be braveSometimes I just feel like that cowardly lion from the Wizard of Oz.  I get intimidated by things that just seem so overwhelming.  Sometimes I have to remind myself that the things I am trying to overcome are not great big mountains.  They are little ant mounds.  Yet I allow those obstacles to stand tall against me…pushing me down…making me afraid, insecure, uneasy.  It’s almost like I need to journey off down that great yellow brick road in hopes of getting a brave heart.  If only I could have this amazing super power that allows me to never fall weak or intimidated.  But life doesn’t work like that.  I’ve come to learn to handle the obstacles that I come across.  It’s not always easy.  Sometimes my mind starts playing games with me and next thing I know insecurity kicks in.  The mind is the weakest link at times.  I have learned to work on strengthening my mind with positive thoughts.  I seek God when these times come.  I seek God for strength.  I can’t do this alone.  I know this.  I can try all I want but at the end of the day when I’m lying in bed in the dark, the thoughts just come flowing back in my head.  When this happens I turn to God.  And when I do…He helps me to be BRAVE.  He gives me the courage to face what’s to come.  He gives me the strength to overcome.  He gives me the encouragement I need to surpass those mountains.  I can choose to allow weakness to continue overwhelming me or I can choose God to strengthen me.  I know my choice.  And that’s God.  Don’t allow yourself one more day of insecurity, weakness, unhappiness and fear.  Instead choose to be BRAVE!  Choose God!  Let Him lift you up.  Don’t continue walking around with your head down feeling overwhelmed with sadness and fear like the cowardly lion.  Instead look up to our wonderful loving God.  Show Him that you are believing in Him to give you courage, strength and to make you brave.  Even the lion learned that he didn’t need to get bravery from the Wizard of Oz.  He just needed to believe in himself.  Believe in yourself and what God can do for you.  So I ask you today.  Will you choose to be brave?  Will you choose God for your strength?  Remember, He already chose you.  He will always choose you.

Psst…God Loves You

“The Lord God is my strength;  He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills.”   Habakkuk 3:19
