What is love? What does it mean to truly love someone? 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 states it clearly. We should give that unfailing love that forgives, that’s not full of pride and envy. We should love unconditionally as God loves us. Sometimes it’s difficult to let go of past hurt and pain. We at times push away others out of selfish pride. We don’t realize how anger and unforgiveness keeps us from being able to love wholeheartedly. We should not keep track of all the wrongs the other person has done. By not being able to truly forgive others when they hurt us, we can not move forward. We hold back from being able to truly love them. We allow our pride to keep us from letting go of that unforgiveness which leads to more hurt and pain. We end up putting a wedge between us and that person. We ruin relationships. We should forgive as God forgives us. God ask us to love one another and be patient with one another. God gives us his undying love to share with others. He doesn’t want us bitter and holding on to grudges against one another. God loves us despite the wrongs we do…despite the pain we caused him…despite our selfish acts. God loves us so much that He sacrificed His one and only son to save us from our sins. Allow God’s unfailing love to shine through you onto others and watch how God restores your life with peace and fills your heart with unconditional love.
