Fear of the unknown is what holds us back. It’s what keeps us from moving forward. Many times fear is the ultimate culprit from allowing ourselves to change. I often speak to people about fear and how with it, it’s as if you are powerless. I have always pushed myself to not allow fear from overcoming me and taking me captive. Don’t get me wrong, I often fall into moments of weakness. But in order for me to grow in life, I have to be FEARLESS. In order for me to reach my goals, I have to be EXTRAORDINARY.
So how does one break their fear? Some people believe that in order to break your fears you must face your fears head on. Some will even teach you that if you go as far as walking over hot coals or even jumping out of an airplane you will break all your fears and from then on you can achieve just about anything. Fear is a road block to change…to your success. But for me, I didn’t have to jump out of a plane or walk on fire to break my fears. I don’t have to hold a snake in my hand to break my fear of snakes. Granted, my husband feels I should but I’m fine with staying clear of snakes. That’s not a fear that I feel is a MUST BREAK kinda fear. I just “prefer” to stay clear away from anything that can harm me. And yes I’m well aware not all snakes are harmful.
But, the fears I’m referring to are emotional fears. The kind of fear that keeps you from walking away from that hurtful relationship. The kind of fear that prevents you from starting up that new business you’ve been dreaming about. The kind of fear that keeps you from traveling to an unknown country on your own. I seek God’s strength and courage to break through my fears. When I’m uncertain and too afraid to move forward, I seek God’s guidance and wisdom. God is what creates a fearless woman out of me. He clothes me with what I need, when I need it, so that I can do something amazing and extraordinary. He doesn’t want us living a mediocre life, settling for just whatever comes our way. No. God wants us to excel abundantly. He wants to see you succeed in all you do. He wants to guide you and encourage you so that you can stand brave and fearless as you follow your dreams. God will not only make you fearless, He will create in you an extraordinary person.
