Not everyday do things go smoothly in my life. We have our ups and downs, those difficult days that just nearly break us. Sometimes life just piles up on us. It’s like everything imaginable that can go wrong, does. In life we all go through those difficult times. It could be a marriage that’s falling apart, financial crisis, the loss of a job. Any number of things can leave one questioning, “God where are you?” Trusting in God to take care of us is easier said than done sometimes. We believe He is there. We have faith that He won’t abandon us. But the minute things fall apart, that moment we fall apart, we feel abandoned, alone and helpless. It’s natural for us to become overwhelmed by these emotions. When Jesus was being tempted by the devil even he turned to God crying saying, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Mark 15:34) God doesn’t always give us what we ask for when we ask for it. It’s difficult working longs hours and still struggle financial. It’s difficult when because of the lack of communication and usually pride, a marriage starts drifting apart. It’s difficult when after you have prayed and prayed for God to spare you your job, you lose it anyway. There are so many issues in life we will face, but if we do not seek God and truly trust in Him, we won’t stand a chance. When Jesus asked for the basket of 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread. It was clear that the amount of food in that basket wasn’t enough for all five thousand people that had followed him. Yet with that little food Jesus fed each person and there was still food left over. We must trust in God that what ever our situation is, whether it’s that we only have barely enough to get through the week or this time you weren’t spared on this last round of layoffs, we must trust that God will comfort us, He will provide and He has a greater plan for us. Believe that He will never abandon you. Remember these difficult times are temporary. Keep believing in God and trusting that He will take care of all your needs and He does answer your prayers.
