Weeding Your Garden

tall weeds

Spring is such a beautiful time of the year especially for gardening.  I just enjoy spending days out in the  yard planting beautiful flowers and an assortment of herbs and veggies.  I can spend hours outside just working in the dirt, getting my garden just right.  I will go out to the garden stores and get an assortment of plants and careful place them exactly where I want them.  What I don’t plan for are all those pesky weeds that start growing in between my plants, even killing some of my beautiful flowers.  The weeds grow faster than I can control sometimes and eventually take over my flower beds if I don’t stay on top of them.

Our lives are just like a beautiful cared for garden.  But at times we allow all those pesky weeds in life to overcome our beautiful garden…our mind…our heart.  We don’t realize that sometimes we fill ourselves with negative thoughts because we allowed others to either intimidate us or we allow that hurt they caused us to take over our hearts.  Sometimes we don’t realize that the things we are doing are hurting us and are spreading within us like a wild weed.  Problems, like weeds, will always try and creep their way into our lives.  It’s a given.  We can’t always have everything perfectly lined up and in perfect display.  But we can fill ourselves with positive encouraging thoughts, we can pull ourselves out from a garden of weeds.  By changing our attitude we can begin growing boldly believing in ourselves.  By trusting in God and filling our gardens with God’s love, we can overcome those moments of intimidation or hurt.  Brighten your life with beautiful flowers and tend to your gardens daily.

I’ve realized that the weeds in my garden are never ending.  Keeping my garden clean is an ongoing process just like my walk with God.  There will be things that will attempt to pull me away, things that will tempt me and their will be days I’m so discouraged I just want to give up.  But by pulling out those pesky thoughts and negative feelings and planting new and positive thoughts, I won’t allow myself to become this garden full of weeds.  I will grow with God and closer to God.  I will flourish in all I do and when I get knocked down I will be strong enough to pull myself back up and keep going.  Don’t allow yourself to become tangled up in a garden of weeds.  Plant the seeds God has given you of hope, faith, trust, forgiveness and most importantly love and watch how beautifully your garden will flourish.

XOXO…Ileen

Psst…God Loves You

“so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.”  Ephesians 3:17-19
