5 Crosses

needs

How many times have you heard, “God will meet all your needs”?  For years I would hear this in church.  One of the things we fail to realize sometimes is that we can’t expect God to provide for us ALWAYS and we not do our part.  We can’t sit there praying for financial freedom from debts if all we do is spend money frivolously.  We can’t expect healing from our ailments if we aren’t doing our part and taking our medications and living a healthier lifestyle.  We continue to sit idle expectant of God for healing and restoration.  We are constantly asking from Him but are we truly doing our part too.

We recently received some great news about our youngest son.  He was nominated and selected to participate in a 16 day tour through Europe to perform with fellow band members from school.  Of course we were ecstatic but deep down inside I panicked.  How in the world am I going to come up with this money?  How will we afford to send him and Me?!  But I simply smiled and looked at him and assured him we would do everything it takes to make this happen.  It not only is a great opportunity for him but it will open so many doors for college.  So I did what any God loving mother would do.  I prayed!  And prayed! And prayed some more.  I had an answer.  God showed me what I needed to do.  He reminded me of my talents and my husband’s skills he recently discovered.  We knew if we put all our faith in God and followed His direction, God would do the rest.  So we headed to Home Depot and Hobby Lobby and picked up supplies and by the end of the weekend, we had made 5 wooden decorated crosses.  Sunday night we had 5 crosses finished and Monday morning I posted them on Facebook in hopes of selling them.  Monday evening we sold 5 crosses and more request have come in.  We had contemplated doing something like this before but never really took the initiative to start anything.  We were too scared of all the negative What Ifs instead of trusting God.  The moment we stepped out in faith and made those 5 crosses we knew we were doing the right thing.  With no doubts or hesitations we took off and now see God’s blessings.  I trust that God will continue to provide all our needs.  It just takes for us to be faithful in Him.  Trusting God with our finances isn’t easy, but God wants us to trust Him not with just our finances but with every aspect of our lives.  He wants us to surrender everything to Him and follow His direction when He speaks to us.  God wants to see you living a life fulfilled and He wants to supply you with all your needs.  He wants to bless you in every area of your life.  Believe that God wants to see you exceed abundantly in your life.

XOXO…Ileen
