Don’t Lose Heart

It’s often when we face difficult situations in our life that we find ourselves to begin questioning if we are even on the right path.  I find myself facing those very same battles at times.  Just yesterday I woke up feeling broken and defeated.  I felt as if everything I had worked so hard for was pointless.  But that isn’t the case.  I was allowing those feelings of tiredness and overwhelming emotions to break me down.  I love what I do but every so often I add too much to my plate.  I’m starving to get everything accomplished that when I get ready to serve myself, I over indulge and act like I’m at a buffet.  I pile on more and more and I fail to realize that I’m overloading myself.  I wasn’t getting burned out.  If anything I was just flat out exhausted.  I was questioning the path I was on but my husband helped me realize that I was just over doing it and needed a break.  I was working on too many projects, plus trying to make time for my studies, juggling my full time job and also my work at home.  I was at every social event and by the time Sunday morning church was starting, I was just so tired.  It finally all hit me on Monday morning when it was time for work.  We often find ourselves piling it up so high that we fail to realize we don’t need to be doing so much.  We need to know when to say NO.  We need to know when we need to just stop and get rest.  I’m just so enthused to do ALL I can do that I’m pushing myself to the limits.  I don’t want to burn myself out and I surely don’t want to be resentful for any of this.  But I need to prioritize and create a schedule and see exactly what I Can and Can’t do.  God isn’t going to be disappointed if I don’t do EVERYTHING for Him in a day.  God isn’t setting that timeline for me.  I am!  I’m the one putting all these pressures on myself.  Take time for yourself.  Don’t push yourself to the limits that you feel like you are falling apart or at a breaking point.  Don’t lose heart in what you are doing. Do what you enjoy and love and ONLY do what you can and no more.  Don’t feel you have to please everyone.  Focus on what you are working on and put God first in all that you do.

Heavenly Father, I thank you for giving me encouragement and clarity through friends and family.  Thank you for renewing my strength.  When I was ready to just throw my hands up and walk away, you showed me that my work isn’t completed yet.  You renewed my faith in myself.  You refreshed my mind and you renewed my spirit.  You comforted me when I felt so broken and weary.  I thank you God for all your strength each and every day.  In Jesus name I thank you Lord…Amen.

XOXO…Ileen
