Danger! Brain overload…ALERT…Brain overload! Wouldn’t it be nice if there was an alarm that just went off the moment we started to overload are minds? Like a beeping sound goes off the moment you start piling on those thoughts and worries. Unfortunately, we aren’t equipped with such technology but our body does give us alerts in many other ways. We start feeling anxious, stressed, worried, angry, frustrated…you name it, we feel it. I’ve had those nights of just tossing and turning praying that God would PLEASE help me shut my brain down so I can go to sleep. BUT…nothing happens and I toss and turn till I finally shut down from literally a maximum overload. This is what happens when we wish we could have peace of mind vs us actually giving up a piece of our mind…our thoughts. We want to handle every single aspect of our lives and think we actually can do it without God’s help. We spend countless hours just rattling thoughts through our already busy minds that we forget that God wants us to just turn over all our worries and cares to Him. We should be more diligent and faithful in giving God the pieces of our mind that are occupied with worry, anxiety, stress, fear, frustration. We should be able to say, “God, I just can’t handle all this without you. I’m giving it all to you and I have total faith in you to restore my peace of mind.” It sounds simple yet we make it so complicated. In Psalm 55:22 it says, “Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you.” We should be so confident in knowing God will see us through even the most difficult situations. Allow God to give you freedom from anxiety, emotional distress, mental stress. Allow God to fill you with tranquility, peace and serenity.
Thank you Heavenly Father for giving me nights of peace and tranquility. Thank you for restoring my peace of mind as I give my cares and worries over to you. I trust you God to rid me of all this frustration and anxiety. I believe in your good works and know that today, as I cast my burdens on to you, you will fill my mind with ease and tranquility giving me rest from my troubles. I thank you God for all you continue to do in me. In Jesus name…Amen.
I encourage you to say this prayer each morning you awake and each night that you sleep and give God the piece of mind that is keeping you from your peace of mind.
XOXO…Ileen
