What is a breakthrough?
A breakthrough is an act or instance of moving through or beyond an obstacle.
Have you been waiting for a breakthrough?
Have you been anxiously waiting for that one moment, where everything finally shifts in your favor?
In the Parable of the Persistent Widow, we learn of a woman that was relentless in her petitions. She never gave up pleading with the judge in her town. This judge was known to not care for God or what people would think. But this one woman, the widow, clearly didn’t allow that to discourage her.
Luke 18:3 says, “There was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’
The widow continued going, time after time until one day the judge honored her request. I can only imagine what she may have felt. That amazing feeling of victory. She waited. She kept trying. She never once gave up. She didn’t allow herself to get discouraged. And because of this, her request was honored.
Are we that relentless when we petition God for that breakthrough? Whatever it may be. Or are we ready to just give up, simply because time has passed with no evidence of an answer from above?
Our prayers don’t come with a guaranteed time of response from God. This is where we get ourselves caught up. We want and expect that breakthrough on our time. But God is not a God of failure. And His timing surely isn’t on ours. He is just waiting on the opportune time to give you that breakthrough. Maybe if He gives it too early, the results won’t be the same. Maybe you aren’t ready like you may think. Whatever the reason is, it’s not up to us to sit and try to figure out why God isn’t moving when we want. We must remain faithful. Your breakthrough is coming. But you must keep trusting in God for that moment to arrive when He sees it’s best.
So how do handle the waiting period?
How do we stay encouraged to keep waiting and believing our breakthrough is coming?
I’ve listed 3 pointers to Waiting on The Breakthrough. I know it’s not easy. Trust me. Been there plenty of times. It was until I learned these principles to the waiting process that I began to see those breakthroughs happening more frequent. Simply because I stayed committed and faithful in God and His perfect timing.
