Transitional Gap During Seasons of Change

Have you ever felt stuck in a rut? Like nothing is happening.  Those goals just seem so far off, almost unattainable.

Have you ever found yourself caught up in that transitional gap between seasons?

Where discouragement starts to creep in through that tiny gap?  Where thoughts of “no way” “no how” will you ever accomplish that goal and get to the next phase?

The other day God revealed something to me as I sat here thinking of the various seasons we go through.  I was reminded of the 4 seasons, Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall.  I was thinking of how each season goes through a transitional phase.   A phase where the seasons come together and slowly one fades as the other begins.

In this very moment God revealed to me, how we too go through this same transitional phase.  But many times, during that transitional gap, we QUIT!

Have you found yourself waiting, losing patience, feeling overwhelmed and just ready to give up?

Boy, do I know that feeling all too well!  It’s so much easier to just give up when life doesn’t go as we planned.  We give up and think, “Hum, maybe I should just try something else and give up on this.”  But the one thing that doesn’t cross our mind during that moment of discouragement is this.  Am I in the gap of transition right now?

Scripture tells us in James 1:12 (NIV), “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person WILL RECEIVE the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”

Imagine for a moment if the Apostle Paul had given up and not continued pressing forward during that transitional gap.  During the times he was imprisoned.  During the times where no one believed in him and the fact that he had gone from the persecutor of Christians to a faithful servant of Christ.  Imagine had he just walked away and given up just because his circumstances became so difficult.  Let’s use him as a good example of what it means to keep pressing forward.  Staying constant on our journey, not giving up, not quitting, not allowing discouragement to stop us.

I leave you with these 3 questions to ponder on.  I want you to look at where you are today with your goals, visions, or just in life in general.  Look at what you have been so diligently working on and ask yourself these questions the next time you feel like walking away.

  1. Am I on the brinks of transitioning over into a new phase…a new season?

  2. Am I right there?

  3. Am I just at the foot of the gap between these seasons, one step away from the next phase?

Stand at the foot of that gap of transition with a faith so strong, praying with Thanksgiving to God for the season of harvest.  Trust that God will bring you to that season you have been waiting on.  That season where all your hard work manifest into a bountiful harvest.  Write these scriptures down.  Apply them to your day.

“Therefore, I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, BELIEVE that you RECEIVE them, and you WILL have them.”  Mark 11:24 (NKJV)

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition WITH THANKSGIVING, present your request to God.”  Philippians 4:6 (NIV)

Stand firm in the gap my dear friend.  Stand patiently waiting as the transition takes its course.  It’s time for a harvest!  Believe it!  Recieve it!

XOXO…Ileen
