Set Apart and Don’t Even Feel It

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5

When God created you, it was by no means an accident. He created you with a divine purpose. He gifted you specific treasured gifts and talents that separate you from everyone else. With great intention, God gave you a vision, a goal, a dream. All to aspire in your life.

So we know God has intentionally set you apart, but what happens when you just don’t feel it? What then? How do we take to heart and run with Jeremiah 1:5, truly believing that God knew us, in every single detail before He even began the creation process. Believing that He has set us apart from everyone else and has given us an appointment that only we can fulfill. To not only have the confidence but to maintain it through the process of achieving our goals, visions and dreams.

There are times where the appointment we are walking in doesn’t feel like the purpose we should have been created for. Sometimes it feels as though we are walking down an ever winding road that doesn’t come with clear direction of which way to go or for how long. And there are times it feels like the vision we had isn’t realistic. Are we truly able to make those visions and dreams come true?

Walking in my purpose hasn’t been all unicorns and rainbows. There have been many moments where I wondered if in fact I was walking down God’s appointed road. Or have I been wondering around aimlessly still trying to figure out how to make those visions come true on my own? Moments where I just can’t see the gifts. Instances where I put limitations on what God can fulfill.

There are times the enemy whispers so cleverly that we aren’t good enough, we won’t achieve those goals, it’s impossible to have that vision manifested, or that God even chose us. The enemy uses his clever tactics to convince us that failure is all that awaits. Lies that deceive us in believing the negative thoughts he has already embedded in our mind.

Recognizing the deceit of the enemy is essential in order for us to grab hold of God’s truths. We must redirect our mind from the lies to focus on God’s truths. Can I just say, the Bible clearly tells us in John 10:10, “The thief (enemy) comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I (Jesus) came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows.)”

The enemy will attempt to rob you of the visions God has given you. But take heart of what Jesus tells us. Jesus came to give you the overflow. Every vision God has given you, sets you apart from everyone else. He has given you visions to fulfill. Visions of overflow and abundance. It’s time we grab hold of the very gifts God has given to us and use them to fulfill those visions, goals and dreams. Declare Jeremiah 1:5 every morning, as a reminder of who God created you to be.

Prayer:

“Father, I thank you for the many treasured gifts you have entrusted me with. Gifts that have set me apart from everyone else, making me uniquely talented. I pray that I can walk each day in the appointment you have given to me with enthusiasm and great joy. Direct my every step as I start each day, so that my walk is aligned with the purpose you have destined me for. In Jesus mighty Name, Amen.”
